The strict regulations that guide public water system operations can be complex. Small public water systems often find outsourcing certain critical functions to be economical and effective in meeting the requirements set by regulatory agencies. Contract Operations

Public water systems must be operated by state certified personnel. Weeks contracts with over 60 public water systems in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa Counties, providing "circuit riding" operators certified at the appropriate grade.

We stay on top of emerging regulations and keep our clients informed about changes that could conceivably impact operation costs.

Installation and Maintenance

When we install water treatment equipment, we handle the entire process from acquiring necessary health department permit, to project startup, and through to the final inspection.

We offer operation and/or maintenance contracts on most treatment systems, even those installed by other companies.

Regulatory Reporting

The Public Water Systems Group at Weeks will complete your regulatory reports and file them, on time, with the appropriate agency.

Systems Design/Build

For new water systems or upgrade projects we have much experience with the design/build method of contracting and construction. Whether or not you already have an engineering firm we can expedite the permit process and build your water system using a team approach. The Design/Build process is ideally suited for smaller water systems. It can substantially reduce costs, shorten the timeline and reduce risk for the owner.

Surface Water Treatment

Beyond our reputation as groundwater experts, Weeks is experienced in the design and building of small skid-mounted surface water treatment systems that meet regulatory approval. Surface water treatment for small systems has been revolutionized in the last seven years by membrane filter technology which eliminates coagulant chemicals, simplifies operation and reduces cost compared to other methods. Weeks is a dealer/partner witth Seccua GmbH, a German manufacturer of ultrafiltration surface water treatment systems particularly suited for small water systems. We were Seccua's first California dealer and we are the most experienced group delivering Seccua solutions to small water systems.

SCADA

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems have much to offer in the operation and management of small water systems but the SCADA industry has focused on big utilities (where the money is!), leaving the rest of us with little more than auto phone dialers. In recent years a number of small upstart companies have bypassed the giants of the industry and developed simplified no-frills solutions for small systems at very low cost.
